Major rivers flowing close to red mark in UP

Major rivers continued to flow close to the red mark at several places in Uttar Pradesh, where four more people died in rain-related incidents.
According to a report from the Relief Commissioner's Office two persons died in Bahraich today, while two minors lost their lives when their house collapsed in Mathura.
With this, a total of 165 lives have been lost in rain related incidents in the state this monsoon, it said.
According to Central Water Commission sources, the Ganga river continued to flow close to the danger mark at Fatehgarh, Kannauj, Ankinghat (Kanpur Dehat), Kanpur and Ballia.
The Ram Ganga river was flowing near the red mark at Dabri in Shahjahanpur and maintaining a rising trend while the Yamuna river was also in spate flowing close to the red mark at Mavi and Prayag Ghat in Mathura. The Sharda river continued to flow above the danger mark at Palia Kalan and was still rising.
The Ghaghra river continued to flow above the red mark at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia.
The Rapti river has crossed the red mark at Balrampur and was flowing near the danger level at Bhinga (Shrawasti), Bansi, Regauli and Birdghat.
The Burhi Rapti river was close to red mark at Kakrahi in Siddhartnagar.
Moderate to rather heavy rains and thundershowers occurred at a few places over East UP.
Najibabad got 9 cm rains, Puranpur 6 cm, Narora 5 cm, Sambhal and Muzaffarnagar 4 cm each, Meerut, Fatehgarh, Bijnor, Saharanpur and Aonla 3 cm each.
It said that rain and thundershowers would occur at few places over the state with heavy rain at one or two places over West UP during next 48 hours.
