Talking to reporters at the end of her visit to a dumping yard in neighbouring Kurumbapet along with PWD Minister A Namassivayam and Social Welfare Minister M Kandasamy, she said the Prime Minister and the central government werewilling to help the Union Territory achieve its goal of 'Clean Puducherry'.
"The whole government machinery was already putting in colossal efforts and energy to make Puducherry clean and free from open air defecation," she said.
"All officials of the PWD, local administration, municipality and other wings are already on their feet to solve the issue. But people's cooperation should also be available to have a clean Union Territory. We should also ensure that Puducherry emerged number one in the country to have a clean and prosperous environment," she said.
The elected ministry, the Lt Governor's office, entire official machinery and the people should work together in this task, she stated.
