Man accused of gang-rape during Muzaffarnagar riots held

Police have arrested one person accused of gang-raping a woman at Lank of Muzaffarnagar during last year's riots.
The accused, Maheshvir Singh, was arrested yesterday, a police officer said. He had been sent to 14 days' judicial custody after being produced before the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Sunder Lal.
A local court had earlier issued arrest warrants against Maheshvir and two others -- Kuldeep and Sikander -- in connection with the gang rape of a woman at Lank village in Muzaffarnagar.
As many as seven cases of gang rape registered from lank village during last year's riots.
