Man arrested at war monument as PM laid flowers

Police wrestled a disheveled man to the ground near Canada's war memorial today as Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his wife arrived to place flowers for a soldier killed there the day before.
Harper and his wife Laureen walked hand in hand to the tomb of the unknown soldier where the soldier was mortally wounded at the start of an attack by a lone gunman yesterday in the heart of Ottawa.
As they approached the tomb, screaming suddenty erupted outside a police perimeter set up around the monument.
The Harpers kept walking. Laureen set down the bouquet. The couple bowed their heads in a moment of silence, and then left.

Meanwhile, on the nearby Sparks pedestrian mall, a dishevelled man with greying hair was pulled off the pavement in handcuffs and escorted to a waiting police van.
