Man arrested for accepting bets on India-Aus WC match

A 30-year-old man was arrested here today for allegedly accepting bets on the India-Australia World Cup semi-final cricket match played at Sydney.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided Gopal Kothari's residence at Gopal Colony and arrested him for accepting bets during the match, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Rachna Bhadoria said.
The police seized eight mobile phones, one laptop and Rs 15,800 cash, she said.
The SDOP said further investigations were on.
