"Police recovered a girl who was abducted yesterday and arrested the accused involved in the crime," a police spokesman said.
He said police registered a case yesterday following a written complaint by a man alleging that his daughter had been kidnapped by one Bashir Ahmad Khan, resident of Donipawa in Anantnag.
"On this information, police started investigation and after strenuous efforts, the girl was recovered and the accused arrested from Court Road, Anantnag. After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents," the spokesman said.
