Man arrested for peddling drugs through children

A 49-year-old man has been arrested here for allegedly peddling drugs to vagabonds and homeless people in Connaught Place area using children for delivering the narcotics, police said today.
103 sachets of smack was also recovered from the accused, identified as Ashok, they said.
"He used to sell the drugs at Rs 60 to 100 per pouch only to the homeless persons known to him and most of time he used small children or balloon-selling kids for delivering the drugs," a police officer said.
Police said that it has registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) against the accused, adding, he is allegedly involved in three more cases of NDPS Act and one case of theft.

"On further questioning, he disclosed that his main source for narcotics was one Ghaziabad-based Sunil Bihari with whom he came in contact at Nabi Karim area. The investigation in the matter is under progress," police said.
