A man was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman at gunpoint in south Delhi's Neb Sarai area, police said on Friday.
The accused, Shahrryar, is a resident of Binauli village in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, they said.
The incident took place on Thursday when the woman was returning home after visiting a nearby market, police said.
At around 7 pm, when she reached near gate no 3 of IGNOU, two men on a motorcycle robbed her of her gold chain at gunpoint, a senior police officer said.
She immediately raised an alarm, following which a patrolling team on duty chased the accused and managed to apprehend one of them with a loaded country made pistol, the officer added.
A case was registered and efforts are being made to nab the accomplice of the accused identified as Kallu, also a resident of Baghpat district, police said.
