The accused, identified as Vijay Gahlot, an alleged criminal, was arrested on Wednesday following a tip-off. One country-made pistol (.315 bore) along with two live cartridges have were also found in his possession.
He was involved in a case of firing at a car of the victim's male friend to threaten her. Three cases including one case of attempt to murder have been worked out," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav, said.
According to police, Gahlot was attracted to a girl and wanted to marry her. The girl had declined his proposal, so he had threatened her of dire consequences. On the intervening night of March 6 and 7, Gahlot reached the house of the youth who was a close friend of the girl and fired at his car.
