A 24-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against a man alleging that he raped her repeatedly on the pretext of marriage, police said today.
"The victim yesterday night lodged a complaint against Rishabh Sahu (28) alleging that he was sexually exploiting her for the past two years after promising to marry her. She has stated that he has now gone back on his promise," Umesh Tiwari, City Superintendent of Police, MP Nagar, told PTI.
He added that a case of rape had been registered and efforts were on to nab the accused.
He informed that the accused and the victim, who resides in a local hostel and was preparing for competitive exams, knew each other from their school days.
