The deceased have been identified as Mahendra Dubey (32), his daughter Anjali Kumari(6), and a labourer Shankar Sah (65), General Rail Police Inspector V K Singh said.
Dubey's four-year-old daughter Gudiya, also taken to the rail track by his father and saved by Sah, was seriously injured in the incident and is being treated at a government hospital.
"As Dubey held his daughters in his arms and lied down on the railway track, Sah rushed to save them. He managed to pull away Gudiya, but himself was crushed to death," Singh said.
