The incident occured in Rajiyasar area where Satyanarayan, aged around 40, was driving the jeep on the road along the canal and suddenly turned the vehicle towards it, police said.
He along with his wife Parmeshwari devi (35), sons Narendra (12) and Rajendra (10) drowned in the canal. The bodies were brought out and handed over to the family members, they said.
"Satyanarayan was under stress for some time therefore took the extreme step," the police said.
