A court here sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment after convicting him for raping a minor girl two years ago.
Chamoli's District and Sessions judge Pradip Pant sentenced Satish alias Sonu to 10 years rigorous imprisonment yesterday after he pleaded guilty for raping the teenager in 2016.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict, special prosecutor Mohan Pant said.
The convict was held guilty under IPC section 376 (rape) and section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO Act.
