According to police, Zakir was arrested on Monday after it received a tip-off about his movement. Police also recovered gold jewellery worth Rs three lakh from his possession.
Zakir was nabbed at the instance when a police team was conducting a security exercise in the area. During a search, two gold bangles and one gold bracelet were recovered from his possession. Later, police recovered more gold jewellery from his home, police said.
"Zakir is in the habit of committing burglaries during day time particularly in the area of Jamia Nagar. He used to target locked houses.
