Man held for cheating woman

A 28-year-old man was
arrested here today on charges of cheating and refusing to marry a woman, with whom he was in love for the last five years, police said.
Shanthi(30) of Kuniyamuthur and Hemant Munithra of R S Puram here, fell in love while they were working in Chennai, five years ago.
When Shanthi had approached Hemant to marry her, he refused and returned to the city recently, they said.
However, Shanthi came to the city and repeatedly asked him to marry her and also disclosed their relationship to Hemant's father, who also refused to entertain the demand.
Shanthi then lodged a complaint with the All Women's Police Station, following which cases were registered against both of them.

While Hemant was arrested, a manhunt is on for the father, they said.
