Man held for duping job aspirants to tune of Rs 15.30 lakhs

A marketing manager of an employment agency has been booked for allegedly duping several youngsters on the pretext of getting them internships and jobs in Singapore and Malaysia, police said today.
According to PI R R Chavan of Thane Nagar police station, an offence was registered under section 420 and 406 of the IPC last night against accused Siddhesh Deshmukh after a complaint by one of the victims Milind Koli, who owns a training institute here named Shell Hospitality Pvt Limited imparting education in hospitality services.
More than 50 students and overseas job aspirants have been cheated by Deshmukh from October 2012 till date, the complaint said.

The accused, who is absconding now, took as many as 19 students of the institute to Malaysia under tourist visa promising them work, which never materialised. They are still stranded there, police said.
Also, he cheated another 34 aspirants promising them internships and jobs in Malaysia and Singapore but made off with their money amounting to Rs 15.34 lakhs.
After collecting the fee, he never arranged for any such visits and swindled the sum, it said.
