The body of a 35-year old woman, Renuka was found lying in a pool of blood, with cuts on neck, hands and behind, with the sickle used for the crime lying some metres away, in Thondamuthur area on the outskirts.
As part of investigation, police shown the photographs of the body in the neighbouring area and the husband, Kuzhaindavelu identified it as that of his wife, telling that she was missing since night, police said.
In the course of continued interrogation, Kuzhaindavelu said to have confessed that he had committed the murder with the help of his friend, who had arranged for two persons for the crime, as there was frequent quarrel between them, police said.
Police has taken both Kuzhaindavelu and his friend Muniraju for furthe interrogation, they said.
