The accused Raja was arrested near Tirukkattupalli, for stabbing his 60-year-old mother and grievously injuring his father with a knife following a quarrel over partitioning of their ancestral property last night, they said.
Raja used to quarrel often with his parents over the property which included a farmland and a house, they added.
His father Sebastin, who sustained injuries on his ribs has been admitted to Thanjavur Medical College hospital.
