Kamal (28) was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Monday after it received a tip-off that he would come to Gautampuri to meet his accomplices.
Police had received a complaint from one Inderjeet, who is working as a driver with one Mahender Singh. He told police that on November 4 he brought a guest to Hyatt Regency Hotel and parked his Innova car near Passport Office, R.K.Puram and was waiting for the guest.
On investigation, police learnt that Kamal was one of the assailants in the case. However, his address was found fake, following which informers were deployed to locate him.
During interrogation, he allegedly disclosed to police that he, along with his three associates John, Om Prakash alias Pappi and Bhupender Singh, formed a gang and armed themselves with two knives and a country-made pistol They then targeted Inderjeet, threatened him at gun point and overpowered him.
"Later on, the robbed vehicle was sold for Rs 90,000. The remaining accused John, Pappi and Bhupender Singh are still absconding. Efforts are on to arrest them and recover the case property," said a senior police official.
