Ravichandran, 48, a construction worker, used to threaten the teenager of dire consequences and sexually exploit her.
The girl's mother came to know about the incident after she started developing health problems and then registered a complaint with the All Woman Police station.
Police arrested Ravichandran after investigation and produced him before a court which remanded him to judicial custody.
Ravichandran, a native of Madurai, had deserted his wife and two children and moved to the city two years ago along with a woman and her daughter, police said.
