The accused identified as Bablu was caught red handed by family members of the girl from near a railway track and handed him over to police.
Police has booked Bablu, who works as a part time labourer, under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
The incident comes close on the heels of the rape of a two-and-half-year-old girl by two juveniles who had gone to see the Ramlila in west Delhi's Nihal Vihar area.
"The accused who lives in the same locality, lured the girl on the pretext of giving her toffees and took her towards railway track in the area. Other children who accompanied the girl immediately raised an alarm and informed the parents of the girl about she being seen going towards the railway track with Bablu. They informed the police and the family members rushed to the spot and found Bablu with the girl," said the official.
