Man held with charas in Jammu

An alleged drug peddler has been arrested after 1.5 kg of charas (cannabis resin) was recovered from his vehicle on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the police said today.

A police team stopped the vehicle coming from Srinagar at Nagrota yesterday and seized the contraband from its driver, a police spokesperson said.

A case has been registered against the driver under relevant sections of law, and police is investigating the matter for further details, the spokesperson said.
