Man injured in acid attack

A 24-year-old man sustained
injuries in an alleged acid attack here today, police said.
The incident took place in the wee hours at Pushpa Nagar when victim Salman Ahmed, his brother Farhan and two others got into a verbal duel with accused Ajju Nai, Aishbag Police Station assistant sub-inspector Hari Singh told PTI.
The victim and three others were talking in front of the accused's house but he objected to it and asked them to move away from the place. Ajju also hurled abuses at them, which led to a brawl, Singh said.
The accused then allegedly threw acid on Salman's face, injuring his eyes, face and neck, the officer said, adding that the victim was admitted to a hospital.

Police have launched a hunt to arrest the accused who managed to flee the spot.
A case was booked under section 294 (obscene act), 324 (causing hurt by dangerous means) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC in this regard, Singh said.
