SHO Bazar Shukul Santosh Yadav said on the complaint of Aslam an FIR was lodged against five named and three unknown persons.
Aslam was admitted to hospital, he added.
The accused are Jalil, Bablu, Guddu and Khali of Pure Dayal village in Amethi district and Lal Mohammad of Pure Jait Subeha of Barabanki district.
Yadav said some old enmity may be the motive behind the alleged attack.
No arrest has been made yet.
