Adi Lederman, a former contestant of Israel's version of "American Idol", has been jailed for leaking singing sensation Madonna's album online.
Lederman, 39, has been sentenced to spend 14 months in prison and pay a USD 4000 fine, after he confessed that he did computer trespassing and infringement of privacy and property rights, reported Ace Showbiz.
"The ease with which crimes such as this can be committed by those who have skills in the field, such as the accused, require an appropriate punitive response that has a deterrent and uncompromising message," said a spokesperson for Tel Aviv Court, Israel.
Last year in December, the unfinished tracks of Madonna's album "Rebel Heart" were leaked before the official release.
Lederman was arrested a month later, as police suspected him of selling songs he had stolen through hacking.
"I am profoundly grateful to the FBI, the Israeli Police investigators and anyone else who helped lead to the arrest of this hacker. I deeply appreciate my fans who have provided us with pertinent information and continue to do so regarding leaks of my music. Like any citizen, I have the right to privacy," said Madonna, after court's verdict.
"Rebel Heart" was officially released on March 6, 2015.
