Major Singh, was attacked with swords and seriously injured by his elder brother Daljit Singh and nephew Gurpreet Singh, police said.
He died on his way to the Civil Hospital here, they said, adding land dispute was stated to the reason for the murder.
A case has been registered in this regard and probe is underway, police said.
