Anil Yadav beat up his mother Jagdamba Devi (70) and younger brother Surendra Yadav (40) after a heated argument over the piece of land last night, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar said.
The woman and her younger son died on the spot due to multiple injuries, he said, adding the accused is absconding.
