A man was severely injured after three persons allegedly attacked him with a rod, which pierced his skull and got stuck there, Delhi Police said today.
Charan Singh had got into a violent scuffle with the three men last evening in southwest Delhi's Bindapur area.
He was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he had to undergo a reconstruction surgery after doctors managed to pull out the rod successfully, said a police official.
Singh is still admitted at AIIMS' Intensive Care Unit.
According to the police, Singh had entered into a heated argument with the three men, who had allegedly beaten up his friend Kamal Kumar over some personal dispute.
The argument was ensued by a violent scuffle and Singh was allegedly attacked with a rod.
A case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC has been registered and two persons have been arrested, while one accused still remains at large, the official added.
