Rally for Rivers, an initiative of Isha Foundation, is creating a man-made forest in a six-acre land, of the foundation on the outskirts.
The objective was to make the forest as a centre for observation and education for plant enthusiasts and children to learn about at least 200 different species of native and endemic trees, shrubs and bushes.
Other objective was to demonstrate how bringing in trees to a place will lead to birds, squirrels, butterflies and other such joining in too and a total of 3,600 trees, shrubs and bushes will be planted, protected and maintained by Isha volunteers, a foundation release said today.
