Man maligning famous personalities on Facebook page arrested

Kolkata Police have arrested a college student for allegedly putting up insulting posts about famous leaders and intellectuals on social networking site Facebook.
Acting on the IP address of "Specified Tarkata", a Facebook page, cyber section of Kolkata Police has arrested Monimoy Aich (20) from a mess in Garia in southern part of the city late last night, a senior officer of the Kolkata Police said.
Aich, a resident of Midnapore district and a third-year student at a city-based college, was the administrator of the Facebook page, he said.
For quite some time, the accused has been putting up insulting posts concerning famous leaders, personalities and intellectuals of the country, the officer said.

Though he named his page as Tarkata, which means insane, the accused is quite well-informed about the internet, he said.
"He tried a lot to hide his identity but our officers in the cyber section traced him using his IP address and we nabbed him late last night," he added.
