The incident took place this afternoon when Sonu, who works as manager with a private company, was on his way to a bank in Vaishali area to deposit the money.
"When Sonu, who was on a bike, reached near Vaishali area, two unidentified bike-borne youths waylaid him and suddenly put a gun on his head and snatched the bag containing Rs 4.5 lakh from his possession and fled the spot," a senior police officer said.
Officer said that after the incident, Sonu called up his employer and informed him about the incident.
"We are scanning footage of CCTV installed in nearby area to identify the accused," he added.
