Additional District Judge Amit Kumar Sirohi yesterday held Soni Kumar, a tailor by profession, guilty of kidnapping, taking hostage, raping the victim and sentenced him to seven years of rigorous imprisonment.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him, failing whose payment Kumar will have to spend an extra month in prison.
Five years ago, Soni Kumar had kidnapped the minor and took her to Saharnpur district where he raped her. However the girl managed to escape from there and the case was registered against him thereafter.
