Malhotra, 49, who has designed for the show, organised by Azmi's NGO Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS), praised her for wearing handloom in most of her appearances.
"@LakmeFashionWk for years @AzmiShabana has glamorised Indian textiles and handlooms and continues to do so," he wrote.
Azmi, 64, gave a quick reply to all the praise she received from the designer.
"@ManishMalhotra @LakmeFashionWk thanks Manish. We must work with Mubarakpur weavers who have slipped into oblivion. Huge potential there," she replied.
Malhotra and Azmi's association through the Mijwan Welfare Society goes back to 2009 when 'Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric' was presented for the first time.
