"The exports of Indian marine products reached an all-time high of Rs 18,856 crore during the last financial year. MPEDA envisages an ambitious target of USD 4.3 billion for the (financial) year 2013-14," MPEDA Chairperson Leena Nair said in a statement.
Increased production of L.Vannamei Shrimp, quality control measures and increase in infrastructure facilities are expected to help in achieving this target, she said.
Meanwhile, the MPEDA and Seafood Exporters Association of India have organised a three-day India International Seafood Show beginning here from tomorrow.
According to her, marine products are exported to Japan, United States, European Union, China, South East Asia, and Middle East.
