Max temp hovers close to normal in Punjab, Haryana
Press Trust of India Chandigarh The maximum temperature today continued to hover close to normal at most places in Punjab and Haryana.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, a MeT Department report said here.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34.3 degrees Celsius, up one notch while Hisar's maximum settled at 37 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
Karnal recorded a high of 34 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 33.6 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 33.4 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
Patiala recorded a high of 34.9 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than the normal limits.
The weather remained generally dry across the two states including Chandigarh.
