The maximum temperatures hovered around normal levels in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, recorded a high of 34.3 degrees Celsius, according to the Met Department here.
In Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal recorded maximum temperatures at 33.7, 34.8, 35 and 30.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The maximum temperature in Narnaul settled at 34.5 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 34 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their maximum temperatures at 35 and 34 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The MeT Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall at many places in both the states in the next 24 hours.
