A medical officer was today arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a woman colleague to facilitate her transfer, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials said.
"Dr Anil Waghmare (45) was arrested after he accepted Rs 15,000 during a trap laid by the ACB at Shri Hospital in Ambad tehsil in the district," informed ACB inspector Ajinath Kashid.
The official said that Waghmare had demanded Rs 15,000 as bribe from a woman who wanted a transfer from the Sukhapuri health sub-centre to Dehipuri health centre.
The trap was laid after the woman approached the ACB, he said.
He said that a case had been registered and further investigations were underway.
