Mentha oil down 1.8% on profit-booking

Mentha oil prices were down by 1.79% to Rs 1,103.90 per kg in futures trading today as participants preferred to book profits at prevailing levels coupled with subdued spot demand.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July eased Rs 20.20, or 1.79%, to Rs 1,103.90 per kg in a business turnover of 720 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in June contracts traded lower Rs 17.40, or 1.57%, to Rs 1,086.20 per kg in 1,113 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall to profit-booking by speculators at the existing levels and decline in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
