Mentha oil fell 0.68 per cent to Rs 881 per kg in futures trade today after speculators cut down their bets, triggered by muted demand in spot markets.
Besides, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts also put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in current month eased by Rs 6.10, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 881 per kg in a business turnover of 189 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in September contracts shed Rs 4.20, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 892.50 per kg in 403 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot markets mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
