Mentha oil up 0.9% on rising demand

Tight supplies in the physical market on restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh supported the upside

Mentha oil prices moved up by 0.94% to Rs 718.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.

Besides, tight supplies in the physical market on restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December moved up by Rs 6.70, or 0.94% to Rs 718.50 per kg in business turnover of 42 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 3.80, or 0.54% to Rs 706.20 per kg in 281 lots.

Market analysts said a firming trend at the spot markets on the back of rising demand from consuming industries amid tight supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade here.
