Delhiites had to contend with the sweltering heat today which pushed the mercury above the 40-degree Celsius mark even as the weatherman warned of hotter days ahead.
According to the MeT office, the maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius, a couple of notches higher than the 38.8 degrees which the city had registered yesterday.
The minimum was recorded at 25.6 degrees, two points below normal while humidity in air oscillated between 22 and 81 per cent.
"Delhiites can expect hotter days with the mercury set to rise in the coming days," the MeT office said.
The maximum and minimum tomorrow are expected to be at around 42 and 27 degrees, respectively.
