Mercury settles at 41 deg C in Delhi

It was a hot day in the national capital today as the maximum temperature crossed the 40 degree mark to settle at 41 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, said a Met Department official.
The humidity level oscillated between 78 and 31 per cent.
The weatherman has forecast possibility of a thunderstorm and dust storm overnight and tomorrow morning.
According to the Met office, thunderstorm and dust storm is likely to occur tomorrow towards the night and Saturday morning.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Thunderstorm and dust storm is likely to occur towards tomorrow night and early morning on May 14.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 41 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively," said the official.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 24 degrees Celsius, both a notch below the season's average.
