'Militants snatch rifle from policeman'

Unidentified militants snatched a rifle today from a policeman in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said.

The militants snatched an INSAS rifle from constable Mohammad Ishaq at Khurhama area of Lolab in the north Kashmir district, a police official said.

He said Ishaq was on duty in connection with the visit of MLA Lolab Abdul Haq Khan, a former minister, in the area when the incident took place.

The police have launched a probe into the incident, the official said.
