Srinagar recorded the minimum temperature at 1.9 degrees Celsius, down from previous night's 2.8 degrees Celsius, an official of the Meteorological Department here said.
A thick layer of fog continued to engulf many areas in the Valley, including the summer capital, leading to poor visibility at the airport which forced cancellation of flights.
The MeT official said Kupwara, in north Kashmir, registered a low of minus 0.8 degrees Celsius compared to the previous night's minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum in Kokernag town in south Kashmir settled at 2.5 degrees Celsius.
The hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of 0.2 degrees Celsius compared to minus 2.2 degrees Celsius yesterday.
The official said the minimum in Qazigund -- the gateway town to Kashmir Valley -- was 1.2 degrees Celsius, up from minus 1.0 degrees Celsius the previous night.
He said the night temperature in the Leh town, in Ladakh region, settled at a low of minus 4.1 degrees Celsius against the previous night's minus 3.8 degrees Celsius. The nearby Kargil town recorded the minimum of minus 2.7 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain or snow at isolated places over the state over the next 24 hours.
