Telangana state Infotech and Panchayati Raj Minister K Taraka Ramarao laid the foundation stone for the Eluru segment which is part of the watergrid project at Nagasala village under the Jadcherla assembly constituency of the district.
At a public meeting after this event, Ramarao alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been trying to stop this project by writing to the central government.
"Our aim is to protect water which will be supplied to 85 lakh families in Telangana state," he said.
Telangana Health Minister Laxman Reddy and local MLA Srinivas Goud also attended the event.
