Fire brigade personnel fished out the body of Preeti Baidya (6) and rescued another youth who had tried to get into the well to save the little girl.
The youth later fell unconscious inside the well and was rescued in a senseless condition by the firemen.
The youth was admitted to a local hospital in a critical condition.
The girl was left at home alone when her mother and elder sister went to consult a doctor.
