Minor girl molested in Odisha, accused held

A man was arrested today on the charge of outraging the modesty of a 14-year-old girl student in Odisha's Kendrapara district, police said.
The accused Banamali Mallick (35) committed the crime at Nagapura village under Kendrapara rural police station yesterday and confessed to the crime, they said.
He dragged the girl, a 9th standard student of a government school in the village, to a lonely place while she was tending to domesticated animals at the backyard of her house and allegedly molested her.
Mallick was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) here and remanded in jail custody for 14 days.
