Minor girl raped in Himachal, accused held

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Kiratpur village of Sirmaur district, police said today.
Hasib (22), a resident of Bhagwanpur village in Paonta area, was arrested following the complaint made by the girl's family, Narvir Singh Rathour, DSP Paonta said.
According to the complaint, Hasib raped the minor when she was alone in her residence in Kiratpur last night, he said.
The accused had threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident or reported the matter to the police, he said.
Meanwhile, a fast track court at Hamirpur has sentenced one Mast Ram of Chabutra village to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on him for raping a minor girl of same area in 2012.

Bhupesh Sharma, Additional Session Judge cum President Fast Track Court also sentenced the accused to additional one year jail and a fine of Rs 1,000 under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
District Attorney, Kapil Dev Sharma said a case against Mast Ram was registered on basis of a complaint by the mother of the victim with the Sujanpurtira police station on July 11, 2012 and the girl had become pregnant.
