Minor help attempts suicide due to torture by employer

A minor domestic help attempted suicide by jumping off the eleventh floor of a high-rise in Faridabad allegedly due to the torture she endured from her employer, police said today.
The girl was saved miraculously as she was caught in a net spread on the 10th floor of the Kanishka Tower in Sarai area, they said.
The incident yeswterday terrified society residents who took her to a police station. The police have arrested the employer.
A police spokesperson said both the employer and the help hailed from Bihar. The woman lived in the city to complete her studies and brought the girl, aged around 14, with her.

The minor has injury and burnt marks on her body, possibly due to thrashing by the woman, the residents said.
