Minor killed trying to burst cracker

A minor boy was killed when he tried to burst an an unexploded cracker in Odisha's Balasore district, police said Tuesday.

The boy had tried to set fire to the cracker which was lying on the road at Balarampatna village. The cracker had been left behind a wedding procession, which crossed shortly before on Monday night.

The cracker burst causing him grievous injuries, the police said.

The boy was immediately rushed to Balasore hospital from where he was transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. He succumbed to his injuries on the way, the police added.
